Spiritual Warrior

Warrior in a past life?  Some days I wonder.  One of the most determined, resilient, stubborn people I know, warrior blood definitely pulses through my veins.  After all, I hunt for swords, sword makers, truth.  I work to make the impossible a reality.  Adorn neck, fingers, wrists, with blessed, symbolic sword materials for protection, power, creation just as warriors and leaders have in ancient times.  A new friend knowledgeable in esoteric realms read my palm as we discussed life, the planets and state of world economy.  My palm line depicting life span shows a split into a second, parallel line which runs alongside my main lifeline until it rejoins the main life line around mid-life.  Kilian, my friend, said I am currently in this period of dual/ split life lines.  He's not entirely sure how to interpret such lines; he has never seen this before.  It may be a backup life of sorts, maybe "my" life with a higher purpose working alongside.  Perhaps, as a warrior, I need a backup life.  This warrior theme could also suggest Bodhisattva but if I were one, I would not label myself as such.  Always fascinated by esoteric and mystical aspects of life, I am open to perspectives of the world outside of the one the being inside called "I" perceives.  Perhaps a warrior does needs a backup life or channel to operate on higher levels beyond the material world.  Makes sense, this double line, double life. Sometimes I feel my life, my purpose is higher than me.  I am on my path, knowing it is my purpose, but not even sure why.  Pushing myself to dig deep into ancient worlds Westerners would not dare or care to learn about.  I spend days, hours, months scouring the Internet, the streets, foreign lands, remote villages, attempting to communicate in broken English with non-English speakers who believe I am out of my mind, all to uncover the power and energies I have experienced in the Far East.

Currently in the time of backup life (thank GOD, given some daredevil stunts I pull), I am on a HUNT:   Produce PRAY in Thailand and find sword makers and blessed spiritual leaders and craftsmen to help me do so.  Kilian made a valid point: why on earth would I go to such lengths, when I myself have the power to bless talismans, to give power to an object, to create the world I wish to manifest before my eyes?  I agree to some extent: we all have power to manifest, create the world we want, connect to our truth, to transform, to awaken.  However, HOWEVER.  Within our reach is ancient energy and manifesting power that I have experienced in the Far East.  From my own personal experience, these energies are barren and undetectable for the most part in the West.  Even in Asia, one cannot see this power.  It is palpable when you  but merely  wish for something to happen, and then it happens.  Until PRAY, I had not been able to capture this energy.  Asian cultures have been capturing and transforming these energies into objects for thousands of years.  My journey required serious excavation of in order to bring the power to light, to find out if my experiences of transformation, manifestation, truth (and those of my surrounding community) are real.  They are.

Encountering Killian this weekend shifted my world slightly and helped me solidify some ideas about life, Universe, and how the ancient energies fit in.  With safety-pin-held-together pants, authentic farm-living-yet-L.A.-hipster style rugged look, Killian is a beautiful warrior of his own right.  He has just about stepped off the grid altogether, touching base every so often.  Kilian is from Germany but you would never know it; he speaks Portuguese, French, English, Spanish, the language of the love, of the Universe, of fractal math, all with an eclectic accent, somewhat opinionated mind, and open heart.  He is brilliant, no doubt.  Comes from a family of scientists, writes code and makes money remotely when he needs.  But Killian believes money is inherently evil, that it interferes in personal relationships and he does not use it in them.  In fact, he uses money only when he must, only to pay the government for visas and such.  He lives on a farm owned by a monk, eats off the land, learns the ways of the world from perspective of the Universe with powerful knowledge of man's science to back up his perception.  I mention him now because of his hermetic, esoteric knowledge (though he would dismiss both those labels), and warrior, worldly perspective's impact on myself and PRAY.

Discussions of PRAY inevitably arose upon meeting Kilian within hours of a break from week-long hunt for magical swords and sword makers in Northern Thailand.  Controversial at first due to his personal take on blessing methods, we met in agreement that the Sword is powerful regardless of blessing origins.  Based on history and Kilian's information, we met in agreement that the sword is one of the most essential tools for man, thus an extremely powerful basis for spiritual talisman, as backed by the ancient legend of Tarot arcana.  Killian does not read Tarot, nor is he psychic.  He simply uses Arcana for its historical influence on the world, how it ties to human behavior and workings of the Universe.  As he explained to me, the four essential items of the Tarot are:
1. Cups
2. Sword or Blade
3. Coin
4. Staff

I can believe all day long that I am warrior, but if I do not listen to signs, slow down, allow flow, some of the best gems and opportunities pass by.  Meeting Killian was one such sign.  He serendipitously stepped off his remote farm and happened to be staying this weekend at my hippie, communal guest house, sat across from me sharing chai.  Killian is on another vibration, a different level than even us unique conscious beings, and I was still in my Saturday morning haze drinking chai as he shared Tarot wisdom.  I have only had a couple of encounters with Tarot: one horrible, one mind-blowing in the best of ways, but no background education on this ancient art.  Brain cells began to connect once I realized Killian is actually imparting further education about the powerful history behind PRAY.

The sword is an object which functions as a blade, one of the most valuable and essential tools for humans.  It possesses both material and informational density (knowledge), fused together like mind and body.  With high functionality, the blade is a symbol today for technology.  Blade/ sword were one of humans' first tools for survival, and remain so in its representation of technology.  I believe it is no coincidence that PRAY is imbued with the symbolic Kris sword metals.

I am re-creating an ancient tool of protection, manifestation, transformation, truth, it into modern-day talismans.  Hunting through Northern Thailand, the realization that powers I've discovered are deeply hidden, is scary, empowering, and exhilarating.  At times I am overwhelmed, other times flying high.  People do not speak openly about the power, the magic.  When I asked my avant-garde guest house owner about special metals and swords mid-hunt, he responded with unexpected deep knowledge, drew me a map of a black market, and proceeded to scoop me on the back of his motorbike to drive me there.  During the drive we spoke of magic, monks, blessings, powerful metals, protection, offerings and other-worldly topics.  This conversation went much like my conversation with my sword maker in Bali about white and black magic.  But Joe, the guesthouse owner, shared how shocked he was to be discussing such matters with me.  He said that most "Europeans" (as he called me), would call him "crazy" if he broached matters of magic and blessings, so he doesn't.  Boom, like a true warrior, I bust the door to magic wide open in Chiang Mai.  It only took me 5 days.

Modern day warriors can be classified as "Spiritual Warriors", battling "universal enemy", avidya, or self-ignorance, the ultimate source of suffering according to dharma philosophy.  Spiritual warriors are also those on paths of self-discovery.  Most people in my circle: friends, family, spiritual/ global family are spiritual warriors.  PRAY is created for us spiritual warriors on the path of self-discovery, awakening, dissolving self-ignorance.  We are warriors in this life, no doubt were warriors in the past.  I wore a necklace for many years made out of rose gold that was inscribed "Pure Strength".  It represented the warrior inside.  Ironically it was taken while I was doing a yoga photo shoot.  Spiritual path leads us to our truth, forces us to let go of attachments in order to dig deep to discover our truth.  At the time, my anger was superseded by a higher knowing that the loss of this necklace would one day drive me to design jewelry related to protection, power and truth.  PRAY is that line.  It is way more powerful than a silly, pretty gold & diamond necklace.

Wear, PRAY, Empower
